PROBLEM DEFINITION
The outskirts of the city of Santa Fe present numerous micro dumps in its 16 neighborhoods. These are significant sources of infection that affect the entire population and especially children.
CHALLENGE
Is there a way to get the residents of Santa Fe's periphery involved, creating a healthy, active, and communal space?
IDEATION
Idea 1:
Cliba and Urbafe, the companies responsible for waste collection, do not enter Santa Fe neighborhoods. The objective of this initiative is to manage waste collection safely, efficiently, and reliably among neighbors.
Idea 2:
Children are permanently in contact with waste, causing different types of diseases. This is partly due to the lack of recreational spaces and the inaccessibility of health centers.
The goal of this idea is to develop a monitoring program using games in squares with integrated technology.
Final project:
Waste collection and interaction area for the community
In order to eliminate waste, this project utilizes a rethinking system of trash collection from common micro-dumps sites and brings a new device in its place. In the long run, the goal would be to enable other activities in the community to take place.
Design abduction:
Requirements:
Interconnects between neighbors and with the municipality through a web platform for personal use.
An area where garbage used to accumulate is now a place for social interaction, and neighbors themselves create activities.
To make community participation visible, we designed a physical device.
Features:

Notification of collection waste (dry or wet)
Notification of events in the neighborhood
Message viewer
Status viewer for municipal reports
Real-time information about the neighborhood
